I am reading "A Dog's Way Home" I chose this book because I found it in my room and got it as a gift a while ago. I think it's going to be a good book. It starts off with Bella being abandoned by her mother and siblings because the animal control got ahold of them underneath the apartment complex that was going to be tore down. This book has lots of cliff hangers so far because Bella gets captured by the animal control a lot but she ends up escaping and going to a foster care for dogs and then escaped from there. Lucas also started taking care of Bella sense he found her underneath the apartment complex but it was illegal at the time to have Pitbull's in Denver and that is where Lucas lived and according to animal control Bella is a Pitbull.
ReplyDeleteI've also read A dogs way home and I really liked it. There were some parts that were hard to get through because of how sad they were it makes you feel like you can actually understand a dog even if it may not be real.
DeleteI also have choosen the books I read because I got them as a gift and it was time to read it. I would also read this book because I am trying to read different genres and this seems like a good book from what you told me so far.
Deletethis book sounds like a good one to read and a tough one to set down. Hopefully it isn't too sad. As having a dog in my family maybe I should read this book next.
DeleteI also have read this book, and it is very good, but I thought it was sad with the different things that happen. I hope you enjoy the book!
DeleteThis book is great. I heard it's really sad but worth the read so hopefully it isn't too sad.
DeleteI also really enjoyed a dogs way home it was very heart wrenching but a very good read.
DeleteI haven't read the read this book but on your description of it, it seems like it would be a good read from a dogs view.
DeleteI chose the book, Pushing The Limits because it focused around high school students, so it's easy to relate to. My process wasn't much of a process, all I did was look around the library and find a book that looked interesting. It's actually pretty interesting even the start kept you reading. Both Noah's and Echo's characters were explained in the beginning. Right at the start I got to know each protagonist well and all they'd been through. I like how the book switches each character's point of view after every chapter. I like that the characters are my age and dealing with similar things I've been through so it keeps me wanting to read it.
ReplyDeleteI have read this book before and choose it for the same reason you did, it was about people our own age and I liked how it swichted points of view because it was different than the other books like this book.
DeleteMy book also switches points of views from the main character to his daughter etc
Deletethose books that start out good and hook you are good books to read i really enjoy those ones.
DeleteMy book is also easy to relate too because I have two dogs. I did not have much of a process either in picking out my book. My books start was interesting too. The author in my book also explained the protagonist well too. My book only shows Bella's point of view.
DeleteI am reading The House In The Pines by Ana Reyes, I choose this book because I wasn't sure what to read and my mom just finished this book and recommended it to me. I didn't want to read the same genre that I always read and decided to try out a murder mystery book. The book starts off very confusing because we just get started right away and the book goes between the past and present a lot and you can't always fiugure out if you are reading the past or the present. At the moment I am hooked to the book because I like trying to fiugure out who did it and how they did it and this book starts out with someone dying right away in the first chapter.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like an interesting book that I would like to read. I usually dont go for murder genres just because they bore me, but it sounds ok if it switches from past and present.
DeleteI also had trouble in the beginning because it goes from present to past and staying in the past
DeleteI also wasn't sure on what to read. My book did not start off confusing and is only in the present. I am also hooked to my book because it has lots of cliff hangers. Your book sounds interesting to read.
Deletesounds like a very engaging book which is always nice. murder mystorys always have good twists and hooks that keep the reader intrested. its also cool that you switched up your regular gener because you never know till you try.
Deletei mean if yours is a murder mystery i can understand why it would be slow at first because that is how my book was too it was slow and then it got interesting the further i read
DeleteThe book i chose is In the garden of beasts by Erik Larson. i choose this book out of a few different history book because i recently got done with the book night and i wanted to get another book similar to it. I went through a process of checking the back or the inside cover of books that peaked my interest based on the title and the pictures on the front. The way it started was very slow introducing characters telling the reader about the whole picture from street names to housing numbers to ships. At first i thought i was gonna quit early before it hit part 2 but i stuck it through and here i am now 100 pages in and it has been intresting for a while.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book The Ghost Deer. I chose this book because it looked interesting and like something that I would enjoy to read. I asked the librarian if there was any interesting books about hunting and she pointed me in that direction. I chose this book for a specific reason that I like the outdoors and hunting and this book was about hunting. My initial thoughts on this book is that it is very interesting and stays going at the same pace the whole time so far. The book starts off with the main character doing farm chores and then going to his grandparents to hear stories about the ghost deer and then him getting excited for the opening day hunt the following week. So far I am hooked with this book.
ReplyDeletesounds intresting it will be cool to see how they will show the ghost deer and what the main character will do. i doubt this is based off a real story but my book can connect as it is a story about a guy.
Deleteit sounds like a book i would enjoy, hopefully it is a good read, sounds like it is off your description.
DeleteThis sounds very interesting, and even something I would enjoy reading. My book also has hunting involved details in it.
Deletesounds like a great book for you!
DeleteThe book that I am currently reading is "If You Tell" by Gregg Olsen and the reason I chose this book is because I enjoy reading books about murder and abuse and I also like documentaries/things based off a true story. To find this book I looked up some murder books that were a true story and this book came up and I read some reviews and what it was about so I decided to find it and give it a try. This book has different parts for each persons part of the story. The book starts off about the mother's childhood and how horrible of a child she was. She was kicked out of multiple schools, stole for people, put glass in kids shoes, and even made up multiple sob stories about her step mom and her biological dad to get to live with other family members. That never ended up good because she was always sent back to live with her dad and step mom because the family members could not stand how horrible of a child she was and she even caused one of her family members to get a divorce for how many troubles she had caused to the family.
ReplyDeleteThis book seems like a good book because it is about someone getting murdered and is based off a true story.
DeleteI also enjoy documentaries about crime and murders, although I just feel like a book about it may be sort of slow or boring at times. Other than that I think it does seem like an interesting story.
DeleteThis book sounds very good, I've read a lot of murder mystery books but I have not heard of this one I'll have to give it a try. I hope this girl turns her life around.
DeleteThis book sounds quite interesting, one of the few crime books that I've seen that is actually based on a true story. I find murder mysteries such as this fascinating, so I'll have to check it out.
DeleteOh, me too, I love reading about true stories that are crime related. This book seems like a very interesting read I'll have to make sure I read it one of these days. Hopefully everything works out the way it is supposed to for her.
DeleteThis book sounds very good and murder mysterys are always interesting.
DeleteWow, it seems like this is a pretty eventful book. I haven't heard of it, but seems like it would be a good read.
Deletemy new book is called "An Iowa Pilot Named Hap" My grandma gave me this book and I seen it was about aviation which is a career path I am very interested in so I chose this book. in order to really cement this as my choice book I read the summary on the back and seen it was based in Iowa which interested me because I would know where he's talking about. Another cool thing that peeked my interest was that the main character Hap was my grandfathers instructor and friend. so I would say the specific reason I chose this book is that it is based close to home and about aviation. my first thoughts about this book is that I'm interested about how he grew up during the great depression in Iowa so I get a little insight into that life. the book started with a hook it shared Haps experience in a major dog fight in the air. then cuts to how Hap grew up. Overall i am happy I chose this book.
ReplyDeletethat's very cool that you were able to find a book about aviation pilot when that's what you want to do in the future.
Deletehoe you enjoy this book. Sounds interesting and hope you get to learn something while reading. Sounds like this book fits you well.
DeleteI've heard people finding books that hit home to them, but the fact that you were able to find one that your family knows is on a different level of hitting home. I wonder how everything in the story is going to turn out like, will your grandfather be mentioned in the story?

ReplyDeleteI am reading Chinese handcuffs. I chose it because some of my friends read it in class and said they enjoyed it so I figured id give it a try. I am on page 100 and it is now just getting good. Dillon's brother, Preston was in with the drugs pretty bad and ended up shooting himself in the head. one of Dillon's friends, Jennifer, got a concussion in basketball and he brought her home because she didn't want to call her parents or anything. they both are going through their own difficulties. one of Jennifer's moms boyfriend raped her when she was younger. and nobody believes her so she dont get along with her parents.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting book that i have read. I actually enjoyed reading it and i am glad that i picked it. The beginning of the book starts off very strange with the neighbors cat and how they beat it to death.
DeleteI also read this book and it is very good. I like how the author catches you off guard and does something you wouldnt expect.
DeleteI read Chinese Handcuffs for my first book this trimester. I would have to agree with your friends because I also really enjoyed this book. The characters' struggles and how they overcome them make this book extremely impactful and it will just get better as you continue reading.
Deletei remember reading this book also and i think the author did a great job keeping you hooked most of the book. i never knew what was going to happen next.
DeleteI also read this books and really enjoyed it. I think you will enjoy the way the author always keeps you on you toes especially towards the end.
DeleteI am reading the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel. I picked out this book because a lot of people read it as there last book and it seemed to be a very interesting book to read. I looked at several different books and this one seemed like a good fit for me. I like to read books that are from the past and read about stuff that has actually happened. These types of books make me realize how good of a life i live and what we really take for granted. I am glad i picked this book because it starts off quick. It starts off very interesting. It starts off as the Jews living a normal life and then the German police come into their house and take all of their stuff. They then are moved into the ghettos were they were isolated from the rest of the population.
ReplyDeleteI also read this book and i totally agree with you on how good of a life we have and not taking it for granted
Deletethis sounds like a good book similar to a book i read called a long way gone.
DeleteI also those "Night" because when other people read it for their last book it seemed good to me. I too enjoy history and like to learn more about it and also how this book is actually told by a survivor of the Holocaust about what he went through.
Deletei am also reading Night and the reason why i picked it was because i wanted to learn more about the holocaust and i agree with what you said about how it makes you relize how good we got it living in the US and i feel like Night will get better as the book goes on.
DeleteThe book that I have chosen is "The Catcher in The Rye" by J.D. Salinger. I chose this book because I had a copy at home and I have never read it so it wasn't a hard process to get my hands on a copy. The premise of a teenager in high school reciting a short span of time from his past sounded like it just wouldn't hit the same way if I had read it later in life and so, I ultimately decided this would probably be a great choice for my last book in high school.
ReplyDeleteAs of the first five chapters of the novel I am intrigued but, it hasn't really taken off much yet. We start of with our main character Holden Caulfield deciding to go and check up on his history professor. Through this conversation we learn that Holden Caulfield is failing all of his classes except English. We also get a glimpse at his respect for the guy for being really genuine. This introduces the main theme of the story of phoniness in society. It also showcases the first person style the story is written in. Holden always makes snark remarks and is overall very cynical about the world which is conveyed greatly with this perspective. It really makes the story what it is and I don't think it would have worked in third-person.
Overall the book started intriguingly but, the plot hasn't progressed enough for threads to start connecting and for me to become fully hooked. It started off thematically rich but, as the chapters go on there seems to be more filler coming in but, I hope things turn around and it ends up being a story that I can connect with and really enjoy.
that book sound pretty interesting and sounds like your really hooked on it this book sound the opposite of my book because while your book sound like a kid in high school my kid is in the holocaust.
DeleteThat book sounds interesting, being in high school whilst reading it must definitely add to the experience. Although I do think that the main character sounds unlikable, that doesn't stop it from being relatable to my own high school career, as I can remember acting almost the same way as the main character.
DeleteI picked the book running loose by Chris Crutcher because i wanted to read a book i might actually enjoy and football is interesting. This book is about a kid trying his best to be really good at football. he trained all summer with the best kid on the team so he was conditioned by the time practice started. This book caught my eye especially because the short summary on the back of the book states he is getting everything he wanted at first but then it all turns around and i want to find out what happens and why.
ReplyDeletethis is a very good book i read it for the first book and its really easy to connect to because their kids in high school
DeleteI personally didn't like this book, while you may end up enjoying it, don't get disappointed if it doesn't pick up speed or get that much more interesting.
Deletei am reading The Boy At The top of the Mountain. i thought i would choose this book because i read the boy in the stripped pajamas a while back and i enjoyed reading that book so i thought i would read the 2nd part of the book. It starts off with a boy named Pierrot and i found the book to start off interesting because Pierrot's father had some conditions after being in ww2 and passed away. Pierrot's mother then got stomach cancer causing her to also pass away. Pierrot at 7 years old was left by himself with no close relations to any of his family members. Later on he gets sent to live with his aunt beatrix who is a servant in a rich household. But Pierrot's mother was a jew and the french dont like them so pierrot had to change his name and not bring up his past life to anyone. i think so far it is a very interesting book.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like your main character had a tough life I couldn't imagine growing up without my parents in my life
Deletemy new book is a girl in pieces and i choose this book because i have heard many good things about it and i've been dying to read it as well. in my book we meet a girl named charlotte and she is currently in the psych ward dealing with self-harm and trauma and trying to get over it and during her time there she meets other people, but as time goes by no one comes to visit her every except her two guy friends but they do not even stop to talk to her. there were so specific reasons i choose to her cause on some type of level i can relate to her and the stuff she's had to deal with and go through.at first i was a little confused because there's not chapters but it is more set up as journal style book so it will switch between current moments and her thoughts. i am very hooked on this book because it is finally getting out of the beginning stages, and we are getting more back history on what got her to where she is now and what she had to deal with along with why she doesn't see her family or any of them come and see her.
ReplyDeleteThe book seems like a very good read, I wonder how she will get through everything and who those friends are that you mentioned she met in the hospital, I'll have to read it myself.
DeleteThe new book I'm reading is called the rolling stones. So far it is a good book because it dives down in their lifestyle back as a young kid in the 60s 70s and 80s. I am hooked on this book a lot. Its like a timeline through the years of the band Rolling Stones gives you all the info from early childhood to them now. They have gotten way older and don't usually perform concerts anymore but are doing good so far.
ReplyDeleteIt is probably very interesting to read about a very popular band and what they did and how they lived their lives back in the 60's-80's
DeleteI picked the book Night I choose night because I wanted to learn more on the holocaust. I found the book through the groups we had. The book Night starts with them getting sent on cattle trains to a camp and when they get closer to the camp they see fire and ashes and they get to the camp and they separate males from females.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a book I think Id be interested in reading. I enjoy the topic of history and look forward to reading your other blogs about the progress of the book.
DeleteI personally really liked this book as the main character makes the reader lose a sense of fiction due to the character being the author who was there at the time. If you want to know more, there is a video of Elie talking about his experiences in the camp while at the camp.
DeleteThe way my book starts off is by the main character Louie and we learn about his best friend carter who is the quarterback of the football team. We also learn about Boomer who Louie does not like and has to play with on the football team. Louie tells us how Boomer and Carter both good chances at a shot at collage ball have but that Louie himself does not. We also hear him talk about a girl who is interested in him who name is Becky and from what we are told is that Shes a very nice attractive girl who likes Louie, but he is not too sure why she likes him. We also find out why Boomer hates Louie and it goes back to their childhood. Boomer liked to lie and tell made up stories, so he told one to Louie about his dad losing his logging truck down a jellyroll and when Louie asked Boomer's dad, he was furious and beat Boomer and made everyone leave his Birthday part.
ReplyDeleteMy book is "The Catcher in The Rye" by J.D. Salinger and the main character Holden Caulfield is also coming from a similar perspective to Louie in your book. Both of them are high school students dealing with the struggle of being such. Both of them deal with one feelings with a girl. In Holden's situation he likes a girl but, she views him as just a friend. Another point of similarity is that both of them are forced to do things they are not so enthusiastic about. For Louie it's football but, for Holden it's classes. Holden doesn't really care about failing classes and is only going through the motions.
DeleteIve also read this book. I like the rivalry between Boomer and Louie throughout the book i feel like it makes the story less predictable.
DeleteI think that the constant fighting between boomer and Louie is kind of funny Louie knows that boomer would kill him but he still ags him on
Deletei am reading the book "the hunt for Scarface" i picked this book because i like to hunt and be in the outdoors. so far this book is about 2 twin brothers Kent and Kyle they live in nebraska on a little farm they both like to hunt kyle likes to hunt deer and kent likes to hunt turkey, one night the boys headed off to the back of there property to turkey hunt long story short kent shoots this massive turkey and it feell right to the ground after he shot it while walkin up to it the turkey jumped up and started to run off, kent pulled the gun up to get a second shot but the gun was jammend, after kent was ferryus that the gun was jammed he busted it in two over a tree stump. they then went back to the house to tell there dad the story of the bird, there dad then told them that when he was alittle boy the same thing happend to him. this book is very intresting so far
ReplyDeleteFor the third book I chose to read "Night" by Elie Wiesel. I chose this book because it was my first choice for the second book but I did not receive it then so I chose to read it now. The thing about this book that made me want to read it is the fact that it is about the Holocaust which has always intrigued me. The book started with their normal lives and just a page or two later it was already talking about how they were being moved to ghettos. In the beginning everything is very fast paced but still easy to understand. I am currently a little over halfway through the book and have been hooked for a while now.
ReplyDeleteNight is a very strong book choice and I hope you enjoy the end just as I did. If you want to know more there is a video of Elie talking about his experiences in the camp while at the camp
DeleteI have read the book as my book for the second novel, and I too think that it is a very interesting book and it is crazy how fast their lives had changed during this time. I also enjoy learning things about history which too also pulled me towards this book.
DeleteI also read night and I think the book has a perfect pace and the way Elie uses words helps you visualize the horror he seen
ReplyDeleteFor my third book i choose The False Prince i choose this book mainly on the reason that ive heard good things about the book and have heard people talk about this series. books made about this time period is not my favorite but so far ive really enjoyed the book. I like how the three boys have no idea what they are competing for but know that their life depends on it. Things are easy to understand and the book stays interesting with the humor or the unexpected from the 3 boys.
ReplyDeleteI have already read the entire series, I believe you will enjoy it as it goes on, and I highly encourage finishing the series.
DeleteI've read this series, The False Prince is written incredibly for the genre, and the humor meshes well and isn't forced or out of place. You'll definitely enjoy this book and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for medieval-esque fantasy.
DeleteFor my book I choose The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The book is about a boy or also known as the shepherd progressing through his life in search for two things, the first is his personal story/ Treasure and two the code to crack universal speech. When he was a young boy he was told to be a priest but the boy who wanted to explore the world said no to priesthood in favor of becoming shepherd, but as he grew as a shepherd he learned part of the universal speech from his floc of sheep and this is what hooked me into this book
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds similar to a different book I read, I can't remember the name, but the main character also went on a journey to discover enlightenment.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletefor my last book I choose the book The Lost by Natasha Preston. I choose this book because it is one of the books that I haven't read from this author. The main reason I wanted to read this book was because it is a murder mystery and those are my favorite types of books to read. In the beginning it talks about how a bunch of kids keep going missing and later they make it seem like they are just run aways and no one ever looks into any of it. But these two girls Piper and Hazel start to get curious and are now trying to figure out what has happened to all these kids and if they are still alive. I am on page fifty and now the book is getting very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI also really like murder mystery books. This book would definitely catch my attention as well as the start of it makes me wonder.

DeleteI've always liked Natasha Preston as an author so this book would definitely be something I would read. Her murder mysteries always keep me interested and sometimes shocked.
DeleteI am also reading a murder mystery book I think that they're one of the best genres of books because they're so interesting, you got to let me know the ending!
DeleteI am reading the book "Trust the Grind". I chose this book because i like to read about sports and it mentions some of my favorite players in the story. This book is different from all the other sports books I have read. The book is pretty much an interview with each chapter being a different Hall of Fame athlete. They discuss about what they did in order to help them become the athletes that they grew to be. Out of the first five people, they all had generally the same plan to get into position. They bring up the foods that you need to eat, how much exercise you should get, and even writing in a journal about your goals and what is going on in your life. From being so different than anything I've read, I am really enjoying it and think that I can learn some things from the athletes in this book.
ReplyDeleteI would agree that this book would be good for me because i also enjoys sports and the mentions of hall of fame players. From what ive heard about so far in the group disscuisons it would defintley be a book i would love to read in the future
DeleteI chose Falling Kingdoms as it is similar to other fantasy I have read and was recommended it by a friend. The beginning was a hook, line, and sinker, with a royalty killing a peasant and sparking a revolution/war. I can't wait to read on and find out what happens.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides and it's about a woman who killed her husband and now won't speak and has been sent to a mental hospital where she's seen by the narrator, a psychologist. Throughout the book, they try to figure out why she did it and why she's gone mute. A lot of theories circulate in the psychiatric unit like she's faking it, she's so mentally disturbed, but the psychologist, Theo, just wants to help her. I chose this book because I love learning about this kind of stuff, I've heard many good things about it, and it keeps my attention. I got the book by hearing about from a friend and after she told me about it I knew I was going to read it. So far, I really enjoy it it's very captivating and interesting. It definitely has me hooked.

DeleteYour book sounds quite interesting and it definitely sounds like something I would want to read. In my book my main character is also dealing with phycological problems and nobody believes anything she says anymore because they have learned that she does it to get attention from others.
DeleteI also read this book and see many similarities between both main characters. My character doesn't like to talk or open up about his feelings but less because he doesn't want to but more out of fear. I'm glad your liking it and excited for you to read the ending.
DeleteI think I might need to read this book in the future it seems like I'd be hooked on the first page! this book seems pretty similar to my book, kind of in the scary aspect, and mystery as well.
DeleteI loved this book, i read it on my way to vacation and couldnt put it down!
DeleteFor the third and final book, I chose Dracula by Bram Stoker. I chose this book due to have already reading Frankenstein in my Junior year and falling in love with it's dark and grim themes of science and life, so I naturally wanted to check out Dracula with it's more supernatural themes. The thing that made me want to read it is the fact that, although Vampires have been in many aspects of pop culture, not many Vampire stories have interested me. Most of them I found to be not scary or too romantic. However, since I loved Frankenstein, I thought I would read this book to better understand Vampires as a whole. The book starts with a young solicitor by the name of Johnathan Harker, traveling to Transylvania to meet Count Dracula to discuss the property Dracula has bought in London. At first, The Count seems like a hospitable old man, but as we learn throughout the story, Dracula seems to be hiding something, displaying strange behavior whilst John stays there. The start of the book starts slow with Johnathan describing his journey through Europe, before it picks up when we meet The Count, that is when the real horror begins. I am almost halfway into the book and I'm already hooked, excited to see what horrors lie ahead.
ReplyDeletechose the book Dante's Inferno. This book is apart of a genre you've likely never heard of it before, Medieval Allegory. This genre is a Christian way of determining the differences between the New Testament and the Old Testament. I've heard of this book from simple scrolling on the internet, overhearing people talk about it, my friend reading it, and youtubers that I have watched who went over the book on a much broader scale. The reason why I even chose it was because it just seemed interesting considering how the book takes you through the 9 circles of Hell and gives us the basis on how we interpret demons today. While it is hard to read, with it sounding something like a Shakespearean poem, it has been widely known as one of the great classics within Western Literature. My initial thoughts mainly entailed how I knew it was going to be hard, I was told that by my friend and Mrs. Broadbent, but I wanted to challenge myself, and since I love reading, it wouldn't be that hard to still be engaged even if it was hard. The book itself starts us off with a bit of mystery, with Dante, the main character, lost in some dense woods looking for a way out on his journey of exploration. This is when he finds a way out over this mountain and is stopped by a "speckled-skin" panther, a lion, and a she-wolf. On his way running back through the woods in terror, a ghost of the long dead poet, alive in Julius Caesar's reign, Virgil, calls to him and tells him that he was sent by his wife Beatrice and 2 other holy women to guide him to her. After this, Virgil takes Dante on a journey through the 9 circles of Hell to get to Heaven and reunite with his beloved.
ReplyDeleteIm really intrested to hear mor about your book and these confusing events. I like the challenge you put on yourself to read a very challenging book and i would most definitely take a shot on reading this book with the opportunity.
Deletethis book seems very interesting very cool topics to read.
DeleteI chose the book "Mayhem and Madness". I chose this because it is full of action and adventure and even though it is a fiction book it still shows struggles that a teenager goes through today. The book is about a teenage boy named Bailey and 4 years ago his dad disappeared without a trace no call no note or anything and one day bailey was upset and started running on his treadmill and he went faster and faster until he fell and knocked down a picture that was leaning against a wall and it revealed a huge man made hole in the wall and it lead to a cave that held a supervillain suit that was popular before Bailey was born. Bailey connected that dots and figured out that his dad wore the suit and was called Mayhem. Now Bailey is trying to get his dad back and is taking on his Role of Mayhem and Committing all the crimes his dad did before and he won't stop until he finds his dad.
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a good book.
Deletesounds like a good book i hope you enjoy it
DeleteI chose Night because it seemed like an interesting because of the title I really didn't know what it was. But now that I read it and it's about WWII I feel as if I can explore my interest by listening to real life accounts of the holocaust. I didn't go through any process per se to find the book, it was one in our class to choose from. I liked the other 2 books so thought I would give it a read. I am hooked because of the first story from Moishe the Beadle and his experience escaping death but watching many get shot. There is a lot of action in this book and horrifying things.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book "Wake", I decided on this book after reading a page in the middle of it and it seemed like a good read. When I was looking for a new book, it was difficult to find something that actually interested me but when I found wake, I figured I would give it a try. It has started off really good and kind of all over the place but still makes since. I wouldn't say I'm necessarily hooked but it is a good read so far, and I am only on page 87.
ReplyDeleteI am reading running loose the reason I chose it is because I really liked Chinese handcuffs which was also written by Chris Crutcher he is a great author. The book is about a boy named Louie who is pretty good at football but his coach and other teammates racially profile another player and intentionally hurt him because he's too good to play against Louie then quits because he new the hit was setup and will not stand behind his team.
ReplyDeleteI have also read chinese handcuffs and I really liked it so I might have to give this book a try too.
DeleteThe book I chose to read is Adrift by Paul Griffin. I chose to read this book because the cover really interested me considering it was a little boat stranded in the middle of the ocean. I wasnt really looking for anything in particular but this book really caught my attention. One reason why i chose this book was because on the back it says "Five of us went out on the water that night. None of us came back whole, and not all of us came back." That made me so interested and I just needed to know what happened. This book starts off with a boy selling ice cream along the beach and seeing a girl that catches his eye and it turns out she is from a very wealthy family. It is just crazy how it started to how it is now. I am definitely hooked to this book and cant wait to keep reading.

DeleteI choose the book Scythe by neal Shusterman its about a world with no death so the only people that can kill are the scythes and they do not call it killing they call it gleaning. I choose this book because it looked like a good read and i got it recommended it by multiple people. The process i went through was what kind of book it was like Sci-Fi or not and i heard about this one.
ReplyDeletesounds like a really good book i hope you enjoy it
DeleteI chose the book Devils Within by S.F. Henson. I chose this book because I had just finished another book about a phsycology patient so I was already interested in that topic. The book is told from the perspective of an 18 year old boy who recently got out of a physiatric hospital after 8 years of living there. He had murdered his father when he was 10 because he was a very violent man. The main character Nate was taught how to be a Nazi, racist, and violent at a very young age which has left him extremely traumatized. I'm enjoying the book so far and I'm excited to see how it all ends.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand i choose it because it seemed interesting.it looked good and a lot of people said it was a good. it is about ww2 and it so far is a good book.my first thoughts were it was boring but now it is pretty interesting he was a Olympic runner now he is in the military.
ReplyDeleteI am reading American Sniper by Chris Kyle, one of the best Navy Seals ever. Chris fought for about 10 years all over around the time 9/11 happened and reportedly killed 150+ bad guys. The book goes into lots of detail of his life before and all the training it takes to become a navy seal. The reason I choose this book is because I had seen the movie a couple years ago and thought the book may be a good read. So far I am really enjoying learning about life as a navy seal and am excited to see how the rest of the book turns out.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book D-Day by Deborah Hopkinson because after learning about this event in us history i was very intrigued to learn more about it. The process choosing this book was wanting to learn and expand on something that interests me. I enjoy reading novels i already have background experience because it help me further my knowledge and understand it even more. And the thing that sold me on the choice was knowing how it was a war that changed history. My inital thoughts on the book so far are really good im learning more about war and the events leading up to it right now. It starts and hooks the reader with a bunch of us soilders in a fight plane that is getting tossed around trying to avoid gunfire from the beaches and how everyone is throwing up and getting whiplash until the under part of the plane is realeased and they have to parachute either into the water or onto the beaches.

ReplyDeleteThe book that I'm reading is called "the girl that was supposed to die." by April henry, I chose this book because I think that murder mysteries are so interesting and it's just one straight forward story there is not different perspectives, so it is not confusing. I chose it because it seemed like a quick and good book to read. My book starts off with a girl waking up on a cabin floor, not knowing where she is, who she is or what happened, I am very hooked on this book, and I think a lot of people would be as well.
ReplyDeleteThe book that i chose is Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score, i chose this book because its the 3rd book of a series by Lucy Score. I really enjoyed the first 2 so i decided to read the third. The series is about people who live in a town called knock mount, its a small town where everyone knows everyone. In the book I'm reading now the main characters are Sloane and Lucian 2 stubborn people. Sloane is ready to settle down get married and have kids and lucian just wants to work and doesnt think he has time for a family. Yet the 2 are drawn to each other. i was not hooked on this book right away but after the first chapter it picked up and now i cant put ut down.
ReplyDeleteI choose to read the book Snow Falling it is a romance book. Now I do like some romance but other times it's just dragging on and boring to where I feel like the author got tired. With Snow Falling Jane made a wonderful book, I watched the tv serious where she creates the book and thought it would be a good read not what I expected at all. It sets place in 1900 in Maimi where Josphine dreams to be a writer she works at this hotel for a rich man named Rake Solvino who she also falls for. Detective Martin Cadden her soon to be husband is busy working to try and find the crime lord his partner and him were getting a little to closer than just partners he also has reason to believe that someone like Rake is behind being the crime lord and all the horrible murders. I am excited to see who she picks, and what man truly will get her. Overall, the book is really good so far and I would recommend it.
